Plantings close to us

In the coming years, under the AmberGreen programme, the AmberOne A1 Motorway concessionaire will provide funds for plant seedlings to municipalities along the motorway that express an interest in participating in the project. Deciduous trees and shrubs will be preferred, because the idea of the project is – in addition to increasing the attractiveness of the municipality – primarily to reduce CO2 levels and increase oxygen production in regions close to the motorway. Any municipality’s planting projects to be co-funded by AmberGreen must be prepared and implemented, as well as maintained in the future, by the respective municipality.

Projects

Below are the winning projects implemented under the program.

In 2023, two projects were implemented as part of the AmberGreen programme.

Bee garden of the senses

A sensory garden “Bee Garden of the Senses” was created in the municipality of Pszczółki, the following sensory zones were planted:

The smell and sight zone contains multi-coloured plants with an intense fragrance that attracts pollinators and butterflies.

The flavour zone contains plants with edible parts, pollinated by insects and fowl.

The hearing zone is a melliferous shrub: the southern spikewort, whose fruits are seed capsules, which turn into small rattles in autumn when ripened in the wind.

The touch zone is formed by a highly melliferous plant: the rough vein, whose leaves are covered with star-shaped, coarse hairs.

A total of 138 shrubs and trees were planted in the sensory garden.

Development of the area near the football pitch in Żukczyn

The main assumption of the project was to improve the aesthetics of the village, create a place of relaxation for residents, and planting deciduous shrubs is to have a positive effect on the air quality in the village. Most of the selected plants are melliferous, friendly to pollinating insects. A total of 254 trees and shrubs were planted as part of the project.

Development of the area near the football pitch in Żukczyn

In 2022, as part of the AmberGreen project , aproject entitled “We and bees – together for the climate” was implemented, concerning plantings in two villages of the Dragacz Commune: the Bratwin village and the Osiedle Group village.

In Bartwina, plantings have appeared at the village common room, which on the one hand will create a colorful wall protecting from the wind, on the other hand a row of trees that will protect the residents from the operating sun in the summer.

Along the pavement, which runs through the village, melliferous tavulas were planted, which will strengthen its structures, color the space. In addition, the escarpment at the common room is the escarpment has been sown with seeds of melliferous flowers, creating a flower meadow. At the cemetery, a row of tawuls and trees were planted. By introducing colorful plants, the space of the village was enriched and visually beautified, as well as cleaned of C02.

On the other hand, in the Osiedle Group, by planting an avenue of trees and shrubs, a place for rest and relaxation was created for residents, a place for walks for preschoolers, children and school youth, as well as a friendly oasis full of melliferous plants, for bees and other pollinating insects.

The avenue was ended with a flower bed, whose location at the gate of the primary school improved the aesthetic appearance of the road to the school, and is also an inspiration for residents to jointly act for the sake of the environment.

All selected plant species are plants with colorful and fragrant flowers, they bloom long and abundantly, provide bees with raw material for honey production, and residents with the joy of beautified village. In total, 344 trees and shrubs were planted as part of the project.

In 2021 the project “Green initiative – Development of green areas in the area of Starogard Gdański municipality” was implemented. The main objective of this project was to create a convenient space for residents to rest and relax and to reduce CO₂ emissions, generated by road users, through the development of green areas in the villages of Siwiałka and Klonówka.

The initiative have planted 57 deciduous trees and 125 shrubs, and created 0.5 hectares of flower meadow. The green areas developed will perform many functions. In Siwiałka there will be a place fully friendly to pollinators, mainly bees, for which a flower meadow of 0.5 hectares and native tree species constitute a great food base. It is the first “real” flower meadow with such a large area in the municipality. The arrangement and development of the green area contributed to highlighting the landscape values and improving the aesthetics of the village. Sowing the flower meadow contributed to the creation of a so-called maintenance-free area, which does not force the owner to frequent watering and mowing procedures, which directly translates into a reduction in water consumption, stopping it in nature and reducing emissions of gases from scythes or lawnmowers. The use of native species is also intended to restore the former nature of plantings in the rural landscape.

In Klonówka, the linden avenue, which was formerly made up of dignible linden trees, was renovated. It will be a place that is friendly to residents and hikes and cyclists. In addition, thanks to plantings, the landscape values of the village will be significantly improved by the exposed tree created as seen from the motorway side. There will be a natural barrier separating from the impact of adverse traffic factors. We created a place convenient for pollinators ,as well as later for birds, which will use treetops to build nests, rest or natural chat rooms.

The pilot edition of the program AmberGreen is now behind us. The municipality of Grudziądz used a fund of PLN 30,000 to green the square, as part of the “Land Development Project in Little Rudnik”. In the project nearly 900 trees and shrubs embedded, which will improve air quality and become part of a green corner, allowing relaxation and creating a place for neighborly meetings.

Traffic is on two lanes in the direction of Gdansk and one lane in the direction of Łódź.

The Stanisławie junction is closed in the direction of Łódź.

The speed limit on the renovated section is 80 km/h.
