The Communes on the A1 Motorway, or everything you might wish to know about the communes located on the A1 AmberOne Motorway route

The A1 AmberOne Motorway has launched the www.gminya1.pl Internet site presenting the profiles of the communes on the A1 AmberOne Motorway route. The transparent site arrangement will make it easy for the travellers to locate places worth visiting. The sites the user will find on the website, some well-known, others less familiar, are recommended by the communes and located in the vicinities of the motorway interchanges. If weary, the traveller will find a place to rest thanks to the information on the night accommodation available in each commune. Gourmets on the hunt of specialties of the regional cuisine will also find something to satisfy their taste – some communes are renowned for the local treats, e.g.: potato-stuffed cabbage or potato noodles a’la Kociewie. They also organise annual events – each offering an opportunity to try and indulge in regional dishes. Thanks to the website created by AmberOne only one click is enough to discover the unknown.

The service obviously provides the calendar of events organised by specific communes. A simple browser facilitates locating attractions of nature, historic sites, or museums.

‘The idea behind the website is to promote the communes on the motorway. Hopefully, our actions will encourage drivers using the A1 AmberOne Motorway to avail themselves to the attractions recommended by the communes on its route. Thanks to the commune offices we have encouraged to join in cooperation, we have managed to accumulate information on the history and tourist sites of 17 communes. The profiles of 9 communes which have not provided us with their proprietary information packages have been supplemented with photographs of the most interesting places within their borders.’ – Anna Kordecka from Gdańsk Transport Company S.A. explains.

The created website is well in line with the actions taken by the A1 AmberOne Motorway to promote the communes on its route. The actions involve e.g. the erection of information boards which introduce tourist attractions located in the vicinity of the specific road junction at all Service Areas in the Pomeranian Province. Similar boards have also been erected at the Service Areas in the Kuyavy-Pomeranian Province.
